Centre-based services are $69 for under 2s to increase by $3 per day to $72 per day.

$66 for 2-3s and $64 for 3-5s. Family Day Care costs are dependent on carers who set their own fees but are generally within a similar range as centre-based care.

Availability is dependent on age with wait lists for children under 2 years, minimal vacancies for 2-3s with 3-5s easier to accommodate.

7月1日起悉尼托儿费用将大涨30%


2008年6月16日《每日电讯报》报道,从7月1日起,悉尼各区的托儿费用最高将上涨30%。Parramatta city council所辖地区的托儿所收费上涨幅度最大,从下月开始,当地每天的托儿费用将从原先的$56元上涨至$75元。

ABC Learning centre率先涨价,该中心将其旗下1200家幼教中心的收费最高调升10%。

警方公布悉尼公车上在女童面前露下体男子图像

2008年6月15日《星期日电讯报》报道,5月30日星期五下午3点15分左右,一名11岁的女童在悉尼Malabar Road上的Maroubra Bay小学门外登上登上一辆公共汽车,当时车上有大约20名乘客,其中一半是放学的学童。

当所有其他乘客后来下车后,一名距离女童两个座位的30岁左右男子突然向女童露出下体。

警方在昨天发出这名男子的图像。希望知情公众积极举报。该名男子是欧裔白人,年龄大约30岁,棕色头发,带白边眼镜。案发时穿浅蓝色T恤衫,浅色裤或牛仔裤,腰间系棕色皮带。

7月1日起悉尼水费平均上涨17%


Average Sydney water bills are set to rise by about $125 a year.

2008年6月16日《悉尼晨锋报》报道,从7月1日开始,悉尼水费将全面上调。居民每年水费支出将平均多出$126元。
新增的水费收入将用来支付上涨的成本,包括悉尼海水淡化厂的费用。

收取服务费的第一年,年平均耗水量为200公升的用户水费支出将上涨17%,即每周约$2.42元,一年上涨$126元。如果把通胀因素考虑在内,到2012年,悉尼水费上涨将达到每年$245元。

位于悉尼南部Kurnell的海水淡化厂目前正在兴建中,预计从2009-2010年夏季开始,每年将向悉尼市民提供2.5亿升饮用水。

新西兰八旬华裔老妇被入室匪徒殴打致死

2008年6月16日新西兰媒体报道, 上周三下午五点半左右,新西兰最大城市奥克兰南区一名八十岁的华裔老妇在家中遇到歹徒入室抢劫,被毒打致重伤,到上周六抢救无效不治。这是南奥克兰地区一个星期内第二宗亚裔居民被谋杀案。

本月7日晚,离华裔老妇家不远的一间酒铺被人打劫,印度裔的店主遭开枪打死。由于两宗案件的受害人均为少数民族亚裔,所以外传案件有种族主义成份。

涉嫌杀害华裔老妇的凶手疑为当地土著毛利人或太平洋岛民,30、40岁,穿白色汗衫,黑色短裤。

昆州出现“男人荒” 婚龄女性找另一半不易

机构预测未来三年澳洲房价继续上升


2008年6月16日澳洲新闻联社报道,由于澳洲人口增长率再创20年来的新高记录,在需求的推动下,澳洲房产价格将在下一个财年转跌为升。

经济预测机构BIS Shrapnel's最新发布的2008~2011《地产市场前瞻报告》预计2009年银行房贷利率将趋向更吸引借贷者,房价也将拾级而上。

该机构预测,到2011年6月的未来三年里,昆州房价将强劲上升,布里斯班、黄金海岸和阳光海岸三年房价涨幅将以22%居全国之冠;悉尼房价未来三年也将上升18%,房产中间价依然居全澳之首:$650,000元。三年后西澳珀斯房价也将上涨9%,不过中间价$500,000元将被达尔文的$515,000元超越。

墨尔本和阿德莱德未来三年房价升幅预计将达16%,堪培拉则上升15%,霍巴特涨幅最低为14%,中间价为全澳最低$365,000元。
